Due, Baby!

This is a photo of Ruth, at eight-and-three-quarters months pregnant. Isn't she a cute little preggo lady? I love her to bits. Today is her due date. Poor girl, she was so sure she was going to go early. Maybe that's because her doctor told her she was going to go early. Back in November, in fact. Why, oh, why do doctors do that? Raising the expectations and hopes of an already uncomfortable woman. Have they no heart? Every woman who has ever had a baby knows that in the final weeks of pregnancy, each day is the longest year of your life. And this is Ruth's first baby, so she has nothing to compare to. Anyway, she had a doctor's appointment today. As far as I know, she's still pregnant. And I'm thinking, she really doesn't want to have a baby for Christmas. Pretty sure she wants this baby in time for [checking calendar for obscure event] celebrating the 105th anniversary of Orville and Wilbur Wright making the first flight in a heavier-than-air plane at Kitty Hawk, N.C. (yeah, that happened on December 17th...what? You don't remember that from American History?)

That baby looks pretty low... (like he has already dropped), she can't go too much longer, right?!
