Family Day at the Armory
We live not that far from a National Guard post. One of our friends is a member of the Guard, and he let us know about the Family Day that the post was putting on. We only caught the tail end of it (when they said "Family Day" I assumed it would last longer than an hour and a half) so we missed the free lunch, but still got the Popsicles. They had a firetruck there, with the hose hooked up to a hydrant. You could choose to be 1) squirted by it or 2) to hold the hose at full blast and try to squirt someone without being knocked over by the water pressure. There was also a bounce house (Yvette's definition of heaven)
and an inflatable obstacle course. Here's Lucy going down one side of biggest hill...
and Hyrum getting ready to follow suite (but on his stomach, because he's a Fearless Boy).
Here are Lucy & Eliza climbing up the other side. Everyone was soaked because - of course! - they kept hosing the obstacle course off with the fire hose. And everyone in it. But the kids loved every minute of it. I can't count how many times they went through. It was not-stop: enter one one end, go through as fast as you can, exit on the other end, run around to the beginning at top speed and do it again. And again.
They were also handing out a free, endless supply of water balloons. And it was encouraged to take them and throw them at anyone. Or go through the obstacle course with them. And then throw them. Gabriella adopted hers and made it a pet.
We had a good time, visiting and watching the kids bounce off the walls...literally. Yvette took a GOOD nap that afternoon, let me tell you! If money/space were not an issue, I would totally own my own inflatable bounce house and obstacle course!

Love the pics -- looks like the kid had such a great time.
