Back in Real Life

Monday morning of this week, Mark went back to work and the rest of us went back to homeschooling. Christmas break is so nice, since Mark has two and a half weeks off - paid! - because the university shuts down for the holidays. We can pretty much do whatever we want. It's really enjoyable to just hang out and keep our own schedule (or lack thereof)...late nights playing games and watching movies, visitn friends and family in broad daylight, laid-back afternoons, lazy mornings. Here is Mark, hanging out on just such a morning with Yvy and George, snuggled in our bed on our Christmas pillows (thank you, Grandma!)

It's not nearly as much fun without Mark hanging around. No one for the girls to dance with when they need a Prince Charming in their make-believe games, no one for Hyrum and Yvy to roughhouse with. We all miss him when we have to go back to real life. Seriously, I could do Christmas break more than once a year.

I love the freedom of the break time for the very reasons you listed -- but I also am glad to get back to whatever passes for normal here!
