The down-side, of course, of staying up late enough for it to get dark so you can watch the fireworks is that you don't get to bed LATE. But Mark was up and at 'em early. He was really trying to get it all done by the end of the day.
Dave and and Wil were there with him, and later on Mark's brother Caleb came over to help.
It went pretty well. I wasn't there to sit idly in the shade, because Susannah - my sister-in-law - took me fabric shopping, so we can get started on making flower girl dresses and what-not.
Ah, the glory of AutoCAD! Mark planned this entire gazebo out on the Computer-Aided Drafting program, so building the trusses was a snap (for him, anyway, because that's what he's good at).
The bad news is that they didn't get it all done. The good news is that we have to come back down this week anyway, so he gets a second chance. It's up to Wil and Dave to paint it, though.

Mark's a huge fan of AUTOCAD too. The gazebo is going to be awesome.
